ANDY SYLVESTER
He/Him
I work from photographs to make images. These are gleaned from social media or the internet. As an older gay man I am interested in using a broad range of masculine images. The idea that there is one ideal of masculine beauty is a myth.
I use my work to explore difficult topics that resonate with us all – from mental health and addiction to self-image and gender. As a creative I romanticise parts of the world that appear to be neglected. By combining unlikely mediums such as fashion, textiles, mark making, graphics and photography, I create conceptual art directions and fashion pieces that act as a tangible link between feeling and processing.
Inspired by Robin D. G. Kelley’s ‘Freedom Dreams’, B.H.A.M. tells the stories of forgotten freedom struggles. In an honouring of the ancestors, each composition pays tribute to a group who, in the spirit of Sankofa, we could learn lessons from today. B.H.A.M. features some of the most exciting UK-based jazz musicians. Their debut album will be released in February 2025.

Violet’s practise focuses on self-portraiture, drawing heavily on her life experiences as her primary material. She finds inspiration in folklore, mythology, symbolism, and nature. Her work is characterised by her use of bold and vivid colour to create surreal, other-worldly dreamscapes. As of late, she has been producing a body of work influenced by her time in therapy, the way nature has played a role in her healing, and folklore, which she combines to form a personal visual mythology.

TEODORA KARAILANOVA
She/Her
Teodora Karailanova, artist & filmmaker
I am born in creativity and I constantly strive to explore its boundaries. That’s why I have spent my artistic life experimenting with a plethora of mediums, ranging from traditional materials to bizarre 3D renders. My craftsmanship peaks with filmmaking. As an immigrant in the UK, and as a child of the world, I’ve found my adventures and challenges are best told through the timeless, painterly worlds of the 3D animated films I create.
Cam Crosland is a self-taught street photographer based near London, England. His work is inspired by human experience, whether joyous or painful. He seeks to capture the complexities and power of the emotions we experience as individuals, such as loss, vulnerability but also beauty, attempting to reconcile and explore opposites. His work is a work of contrasts, connecting the outer and inner worlds.
Two figures face each other but do not touch- the potential connection between them is present but ultimately unfulfilled. What does it mean to connect with other people? And how can we connect despite our differences? My art practice examines the disconnect between the polarised sides of the ‘trans
debate’ and whether it is possible to circumvent this division. I am interested in the mother-child dynamic as a metaphor for the relationship that transgender individuals have with their ‘mother’ society.
Hi! I’m Mars, am a 21 year old transmasc. Being queer in the closet had a big impact on my life.
Therefore I started to break through it. Exploring queer joy, alongside the challenges a lot of us fight on a daily basis. As well as being neurodivergent has shaped my view on the world and how I perceive it, it has impacted the way I do art; Working topic based and exploring time based media, installation, painting, etc.
This piece is to learn about the feeling of being trapped, unable to say no, constantly treading water, trapped in ones mind and body.
Tyler is a queer and trans photographer. Working in West Midlands and around the UK specialising in event, theatre and music photography. Ethan’s work is explorative, mood-driven and reactionary. Researching characteristics of human life, values, intimacy and trauma; formulating ways to question and reconstruct the idea of self. Inspired by queer culture, politics and the skill of telling stories.
Developing their practice helped to confront his past teachings raised as a Jehovah’s Witnesses, a closed-off religious organisation. After years of mental turmoil, he left the organisation and began life as an openly queer man, utilising his experience to push his artistic boundaries.
Growing up in the lush landscape of Pembrokeshire my world has forever revolved around the natural world, so for me moving to a city I lost a part of myself. When longing for nature I find my self searching for the green amongst the grey.

Through my interdisciplinary practice which
includes Painting, Performance & Sculptural
qualities, I challenge the traditional norms
in the art world by interrogating power
structures in the art market within the urban
landscape, value and desire systems of art
with its commodity form and combining
traditional painting ideologies with
sculptural and performative elements.
